From stadiums and concert halls all over the world, Jim and Wendy combined their instrumental powers to create an energetic and unforgettable show. Their performances feature a dynamic blend of epic rock anthems and fiery classical showpieces.
Juilliard-trained cellist Wendy Law has appeared as a soloist with numerous orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, Singapore Symphony, and Hong Kong Sinfonietta. In addition to founding her own ensemble, Classical Jam, and introducing the cello to the TikTok generation, she has performed and given masterclasses worldwide. Wendy, born in Hong Kong, raised in Boston, now calls herself a New Yorker after spending 20 years in New York City.
Award-winning composer and guitarist Jim Hodson has been traveling, touring, and producing music relentlessly for the last ten years. He hails from Melbourne, Australia and taught for many years at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. After a brief stint in the clarinet section, he ditched the woodwinds for the much cooler electric guitar, and has been pretending to be a rockstar ever since. Jim currently arranges and produces for other headline artists, and has an inordinate enthusiasm for pretentious coffee.
“What is shredding?” you may be asking. It’s simply musical slang for playing an instrument with so much energy, speed and intensity that the instrument itself is in danger of being proverbially shredded. It is a positive term, used with a sense of awe, excitement, and incredulity. Together, Jim and Wendy explore high-octane repertoire from the classical and rock worlds, which have more in common than you might think!
