“Rollo” started his professional showbusiness career in 1987 touring as a circus clown with Tony Hopkins ‘’Circus Fiesta’’. Since then, he has worked as a compere, entertainments manager, TV extra, children’s entertainer and of course stand-up comedian. Rollo, (previously known as “Reggie Mental”) has appeared in cabaret & Summer seasons at venues all over the UK & has appeared as late-night cabaret for the British holiday makers in Benidorm. His career as a stand up was forged touring the working men’s clubs of the Midlands and Military barracks. Daunting audiences for any entertainer but it was there that he worked and perfected his act, developing it for theatre and cruise line audiences.
He has toured with many variety shows and appeared in theatres across the UK including Cromer Pier, Doncaster Dome, Saltburn theatre, Gorleston Pavilion,
Joe Longthorne theatre Blackpool and Brighton Dome theatre to name but a few. Rollo’s act is a regular favourite on the Warner hotel cabaret circuit in the U.K.
and he has been “warm-up” for many artistes including Jimmy Jones, Duncan Norvelle, Norman Collier & Jess Conrad. His real love is pantomime, and he has over twenty-five panto seasons under his belt playing most comedy roles. Appearing in panto’ alongside a diverse list of stars from Dora Bryan and Maureen Nolan to Sooty & Sweep, Postman Pat and Gladiators Rebel and Ace! Rollo is held in high regard by his fellow performers and in 2007 was elected into the world’s most exclusive show business fraternity ‘’The Grand Order of Water Rats’’ taking the title of ‘’Baby Rat’’ from Iron Maiden drummer Nico Mcbrain & in 2009 Rollo was voted ‘’Rat of the year’’ for his charity work.
