PHILIPPA HEALEY: “Dynamic West End Star”

With a voice described by Sir Cameron Mackintosh as “absolutely magnificent”, critically acclaimed West End leading lady Philippa Healey continues to win fans across the world. Our “Lassie From Lancashire” takes you on a show-stopping musical journey, with her trademark combination of outstanding musicianship and comedic charm.

Originally from Rochdale in Lancashire, Philippa Healey is a critically acclaimed West End leading lady, and honoured music graduate of University College, Oxford. Whilst studying piano and composition at Chetham’s School Of Music, she became Principal Soprano of the National Youth Choir, featuring as a regular soloist and member of its prestigious chamber choir. She also became the youngest solo singer to perform and record with the Academy of St. Martin-In-The-Fields orchestra, under Sir Neville Marriner, at the age of 21.

After graduating from Oxford, Philippa was personally cast by Sir Cameron Mackintosh as Cosette in the record-breaking London production of “Les Misèrables”. Additional West End roles include Tess in “Tess of the D’Urbervilles” (Savoy Theatre), and Young Heidi in Sondheim’s “Follies” (Royal Festival Hall). Recordings include solo oratorio and musical theatre pieces for BBC Radio 3, Sony Classical, and Hyperion Records.

In 2003, Philippa was invited to produce and arrange her own headline show, which has resulted in years of successful performing around the world, covering a huge range of musical styles, with repertoire to suit any audience. At home in the UK, Philippa is also a regular soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra, and performs annually with the Orchestra Of The Age Of Enlightenment at the BBC Proms, with whom she sang Haydn’sCreationunder Sir Simon Rattle in 2014.
