Opera Interludes is one of the world’s leading travelling opera companies and has a considerable reputation for presenting performances of the highest artistic standards. The company has appeared throughout the UK, across Europe and as far afield as Hong Kong, Barbados, India and Canada.
The company brings together established artists from the major international opera companies, with exceptional young singers, to present highly entertaining performances.
Opera Interludes has appeared at many VIP occasions including a private performance in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, charity performances for His Majesty The King and HRH The Princess Royal, for the Prime Minister at 10 Downing Street, The President of Malta at the Palace in Valletta and for the Ambassador at the British Embassy in Paris. Other performances include appearances in one of the world’s greatest opera houses, La Fenice in Venice, and at a private party for the Spice Girls singing an operatic version of one of the group’s hits.
Opera is a sophisticated art form but is essentially a wonderful ‘entertainment’. Opera Interludes specialises in presenting programmes of passion, drama, humour, fun and interaction: Carmen will serenade the gentlemen in the celebrated ‘Habanera’ and Figaro will offer a free hair-do during his famous ‘Figaro, Figaro’ aria. As well as solos and ensembles from the great operatic repertoire of Mozart, Bizet, Verdi and Puccini, the company also performs pieces from the world of operetta, hits from musicals, and can also add an operatic version of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’!
Glamorous period costumes and evening dress add a visual impact to the company’s performances.
Accompaniment can be a pianist or orchestral backing tracks.
