Matthew Banks, your personal Billy & Elton expert, is thrilled to be cruising with you. This Canadian farm-town kid moved to The Big Apple and has been trotting the globe ever since. Currently based out of Las Vegas, he's also called Toronto, Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, and St. Thomas Virgin Island home. As one of Las Vegas' Blue Man Group stars, Matthew is an incredibly seasoned performer at home on major stages. He's toured the world, performing for stadium audiences, sold-out casinos, and intimate private events. He's even met the Queen of England.
When Banks pays tribute to Billy Joel and Elton John, he unleashes his passion and showcases his incredible vocal and instrumental prowess. Talk about a crowd-pleaser - EVERYONE has a Billy'n'Elton tune (or 10!) they sing along to, songs that feel like the soundtrack to their own lives.
As a teenager, when Matthew saw Billy Joel performing 'Honesty' live on TV, it stopped him in his tracks. "I gotta try that!”, and he took his classical piano training and choir boy skills as a foundation to forever-explore the anthologies of William Martin Joel.
Banks has published beautiful story-telling original singer/songwriter music. His duet 'Made of Miracles' with two-time GRAMMY nominee Tracy Bonham may melt your heart. Other autobiographical titles like 'Little Blonde Boy' or ‘Little Katie' culminate Matthew's talents as a multi-instrumental-vocalist. Co-produced alongside the son of the late great Chick Corea, Thaddeus Corea.
