About

America’s Got Talent & American Idol Semi-Finalist Marcus Terell, one of music’s rising superstars, ignites international audiences with his powerful vocals, boundless energy, and dynamic stage presence.

Like many great singers, Marcus discovered his love & talent for singing in church while growing up in his hometown of Kansas City, Missouri. It was there that he discovered his love for fierce, gospel divas like Shirley Caesar, The Clarke Sisters, and Yolanda Adams. A vocal powerhouse, Marcus boasts a four octave range which he attributes to his love and admiration for those female vocalists he grew up listening to and often imitating while developing his own voice and style. This love for feel good music later led him to the world of Motown where he would discover those classic groups like Diana Ross & The Supremes and The Temptations. Eventually Marcus would combine his love for divas and classic groups by starting his own act ‘Marcus Terell & The Serenades.’

One Valentine’s Day, Marcus called together a few of his friends. 45 minutes later, they’d made an audition tape singing the Ray Charles classic ‘Hit The Road Jack’. Marcus would later send that tape to producers at NBC. About three months later, Marcus Terell & The Serenades were competing live and placing among the Top 40 as Semi-Finalists on NBC’S America’s Got Talent!

In 2019, Marcus became the first Guest Entertainer to headline a 13-month residency on the first billion dollar cruise ship ever made.

‘HYPE’ was produced and choreographed by BlackSkull Creative; a UK based company whose clients include artists like Little Mix, Olly Murs, and Rihanna. In addition to touring worldwide Marcus Terell has also headlined alongside artists like Todrick Hall, Shangela, Amber Riley and as a Guest Artist with the Indianapolis, Atlanta, and Baltimore Symphony Orchestras.

In the words of Sharon Osbourne,

“If you sing, you have to be a little different and extra special like Marcus.”
